Blog 11: Lesson 1 Reflection
1. What are you most proud of in your lesson, and why?
I was most proud of my hook in my lesson. I thought it was pretty clever, and I managed to make the audience smile, which always brightens my day.
2. What assessment would you give yourself on your lesson? Explain why you earned that grade using evidence from the component contract.
I would give myself an AP at the most. I engaged the audience with my hook, cited my sources, mentioned my mentor ship, and made eye contact. Due to the fact that I didn't meet the time limit though, 1 minute off, so close, the only grade I can receive is a NC.
3. If you could go back, what would you change about your lesson? How can you use that knowledge to give a better Lesson 2?
If I could go back, I would've first: have at least two dress rehearsals to better prepare myself and ease my nerves, second: better equip myself with ready to go flashcards, third: put my props to better use, and fourth: slap myself silly the previous night to remind myself to not mess up Lesson 2 as I did in Lesson 1. By using this knowledge, I shall better prepare myself for Lesson 2 and make sure I present to the best of my abilities.
